Verbne Lake is located in Obolon, between the Pochayna metro station and the Northern Bridge, between Pryozerna Street and Bandery Avenue. This is a reservoir of artificial origin, a former sand quarry. Lake is a unique metropolitan reservoir in terms of the composition of its inhabitants. More than 20 species of fish live in the lake. Also, one of the species of floating fern, listed in the Red Book of Ukraine, is found here. Since 1994, it has had the status of a protected area. The lake offers picturesque views all year round.
